Breaking Barriers (detail 6)

A faded newspaper article with the headline 'Suffragette riot in London' is overpainted with an eye-like shape fused with a pair of golden wings. Beneath this dangles two metal tags with the words 'they' and 'want'. On the top right, we see an enamel cruciform badge with four purple petal-like shapes enclosing a green ring which encloses a white disc with WSPU 1913 printed on it in green. Beneath this, in a rose-tinted hue we see an Edwardian woman with a majestic hairstyle crowned by a red rose. In front of her floats a poster calling for 'votes for women'.
