Gay discrimination! / 3 November 2007

I recently posted a new equalities cartoon on my other blog (see link above at blog entry 28th Oct) and invited comments about it. I thought that I'd do the same here.

The purpose of the cartoon is to shock people out of their complacency about aspects of discrimination that are still alive and well, particularly in the workplace. Don't worry if it makes you laugh, it doesn't mean that you're homophobic (although you might be!).

I have had feedback which confirms that discrimination against a person because of their sexual orientation is alive and well and also living within the Disabled people's movement. It seems that just because we're discriminated against, it doesn't mean that we can't also discriminate against other people, even among our own!

Hopefully this cartoon will get people looking at their own environment and recognising and then stamping out this particular form of discrimination.

Oh, incidentally, the name of the software that exposed the artwork lifter (see blog entry 1st Nov) is apparently called 'Sitemeter'. Hope this helps those who enquired.
