Greenwich and Docklands International Festival is producing National Paralympic Day featuring the Mayor of London’s Liberty Festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday 7 September 2013.

Celebrating the first anniversary of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, the event will showcase the incredible creative talents of Deaf and disabled artists and Paralympic athletes and also offers a chance to take part in family-friendly community based “have a go” sports activities.
Watch ParalympicsGB stars take on the world in the Copper Box Arena and you can immerse yourself in Liberty's exciting programme of street theatre, dance, live music, films, installations and children's activities. Some of Liberty's highlights are listed below.

National Paralympic Day is a FREE event and features:

  • Architects of Air
    Miracoco Luminarium is a monumental interactive light sculpture created by Alan Parkinson with a new commissioned soundscape by Paul Hanson Gundry. Supported by the London Legacy Development Corporation.
  • Andrea Begley
    The 2013 winner of the BBC's 'The Voice'. 
  • Motion Disabled Unlimited
    A chance for visitor's to see Simon Mckeown's  fabulous 10m high inflatable sculpture of Mat Fraser, right at the entrance to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
  • Cando2 & Candoco Dance Company
    Two invigorating dance pieces by Cando2, Chase, and Candoco Dance Campany'sTwo for C,  by award-winning choreographer Javier de Frutos.
  • Fish Police
    A unique blend of electronic future funk, pop and hip hop from Heart n Soul's three piece band.
  • Bicycle Ballet
    Everyday Hero is the latest performance by Bicycle Ballet featuring visually impaired and sighted performers.
